Isn't TV just for major national brands?
Major names were not always major, but they used Television Advertising to get to the top. Start up businesses may not have the capital to do national advertising basis, but they can start brand awareness and generating response on a regional level and grow from there.

What does it cost to advertise on TV?
This depends on whether you choose to advertise locally or on a national level. The rate per spot on Cable TV on a local market can range from $15 to $500. Broadcast Networks (CBS, WB, NBC) can start as low as $1,500 per overnight spots and up from there. A test campaign will give you a very good idea of whether TV works for you. Assuming it's successful, you can then expand your campaign out to other regions or nationally. Remember this rule of thumb: every $1 spent on TV advertising generates over $2.30 in return.

What should I spend on production?
Airtime is the budget priority, since no matter how incredible your commercial looks, it won't have much impact if no one sees it. As a rule of thumb, prepare to spend 10% - 20% of your airtime budget, possibly more if you want to run the campaign again next year. Major brands invest more in 'production values', notably using film stock rather than video. View our commercial production page for more details.

How can I handle the response? Do you also set up Call Centers?
We do not, however, we can refer you to affiliate companies who do and have had a great track record.

Why should we buy TV through an Ad Agency?
Networks across the nation may be difficult to get in touch with and keep a track of. With an Ad Agency,
you deal with one person as opposed to three or sometimes 10 different networks. In addition, it makes sense
to deal with a recognized agency with the necessary buying skills and industry track record. For instance,
Spot On Media can negotiate the best discounts, day parts and ratings on your behalf, then monitor
the delivery. It is our long term interest to make your campaign a success, so you will continue to book through us.

What are Red Rates?
Beware of certain companies that sell airtime through automated systems. This means that they are
most likely selling you Red Rates, which means the highest possible rate a network could ever charge.
For instance, you may buy a spot on MTV in Burbank, CA for $55 dollars, even though the daily network
rate for that same exact MTV spot is $22. Spot On Media does not use an automated system to set
up an airtime schedules. We believe in human interaction and getting the best possible deals for our clients.

What are book-end spots?
Book-end spots are 15-second spots which appear at the beginning and end of each commercial break,
as opposed to a 30 second spot which only appears once.
^top

Do all networks offer book-end spots?
Not all, but the majority of networks do.
^top

Does Spot On Media charge an airtime set up fee?

^top

Do I need to pay you up front?

at least 1 week before the launch of your Television Campaign.
^top

3 months of airtime buy.
^top
